Our client is one of the major maritime services company. One of the loyal employee was identified as potential country manager, but organization knew certain gaps exist. However, they remained as individual opinions of the managers of the potential country manager and as such did no indicate what can be done to bridge the gaps.
One choice was to send the future country manager for an executive coaching program, however it was felt that it may not be targeted enough and hence it was decided to do an individual assessment to have more robust understanding of key development areas.
Comaea Consulting helped define the country manager capabilities, translated in a capability matrix, assessed the identified country manager against the matrix and identified the areas of development. The assessment outcome was shared with the internal candidate. Meanwhile, company’s retained executive coach was briefed together with the internal candidates and recommended possible development axis that could be considered during coaching.
