Our client is a leading North American capital equipment manufacturer. As they had a good installation base throughout Asia, they foresaw rapidly increasing sales for their capital equipment, specially catering to the FMCG sector. To meet this demand, they anticipated increased hiring of people throughout Asia and also expected a good level of HR partnering need.
The client had a choice to build internal capacity to support the HR function, but they decided to outsource all non-core activities such as finance, accounting, secretarial, and travel among others. As a natural corollary, recruitment and HR partnering functions were also outsourced, particularly because the size and scale necessary to meet their demand could not afford a mix HR resource catering to HR partnering as well as recruitment.
